S.A.C.R.E.D. Agave Mezcal Tasting

372 Lafayette St, NoHo, NY

Join us on the evening of Thursday, April 25th for a special mezcal tasting featuring Lou Bank of S.A.C.R.E.D. Agave.

Lou and the ATLA bar team (ft. Bev. Director Yana Volfson) will be pouring special flights of mezcal paired with accompanying flavors to create an all in all experience with good company and meaningful intentions. We are celebrating life, eating, cooking and coexisting in a surreal, shamanic atmosphere.

The money raised at this tasting will be used to underwrite the agricultural classes at Telesecundaria El Manantial in Zaachila, Oaxaca. This middle school is located in a squatter community that has literally developed on and around the major garbage dump site for Oaxaca City. Because they are squatters, the government doesn’t  provide full resources to the school. When they ran out of water, the teacher of the agriculture class began showing students how to grow and raise agave seeds. We’ve committed to purchase 10,000 baby tobala each year for the next three years, at a cost of $1 each (two to three times the normal cost of agave seedlings — we’re paying extra to help support the school) we then donate the plants to maestros mezcalero.

Ticket prices include tax and gratuity.
